Read 2 Ride
Silverwood's reading promotion, READ 2 RIDE, ends on Tuesday, March 31st. With the current school closure it is not possible to physically turn in those reading logs. We are hearing of some creative ways they are being sent to teachers though, such as scanning and emailing them or snapping a picture and forwarding the picture to the teacher by email, text or messenger.
Teachers may be reaching out to determine if your child completed the challenge and if so, how you would like to receive the ticket. Silverwood has offered to email tickets directly to parents this year.
The new Montana Law, HB 745, prohibits schools in Montana from inputting a student's name into Silverwood's Read 2 Ride database, which is currently the only way for a ticket to be awarded. However, to allow Montana students to participate in the program this year, Silverwood has ask that we submit the parent or guardian's name in place of the student name. If your child has read 10 hours, the ticket you recieve will be a student ticket issued in the parent's name.
As you plan your trip to Silverwood, you will want to keep in mind the following blackout dates, when Read 2 Ride tickets aren't valid. These dates include: 7/11, 7/18, 7/25, 8/1, 8/8, 8/15, 8/22, 8/29, 9/5, and 9/6. These tickets are not valid for Scarywood.
