Community Eligibility Provision
Thompson Falls School District was notified at the end of May 2024, that all students in grades K through 12 would have access to free meals, both breakfast and lunch, for the entire 2024-25 School Year. As part of the “Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act”, the new Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) allows high-need schools to serve free school meals to ALL students regardless of their household income. Community Eligibility ensures that kids have the food and nutrition needed to succeed in the classroom and eliminates paperwork for parents. This benefit will begin on August 26, 2024.

SUMMER ELECTRONIC BENEFITS TRANSFER (S-EBT)
As we have previously shared, ALL students eat Breakfast and Lunch FREE of charge this entire school year, at Thompson Falls Schools, through CEP (Community Eligibility Provision). No paperwork is needed. However, if you have qualified for the Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (S-EBT) program in past years, or if you think you might qualify, you will want to take a moment to fill out the application, which can be found here, as this application will be used to issue benefits for the Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer ( S-EBT ) program.
The Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (S-EBT) program will provide $120 per eligible child in the form of preloaded cards that your family can use to purchase groceries. Children must be directly certified or income eligible to qualify for this program. The program is intended to help fulfill hunger gaps when children are not in school.
