Greetings from the Counselor's Office at Thompson Falls High School! My name is Jodi Morgan, and the 2020-21 school year marks  my thirteenth year as the TFHS Counselor and twelfth year as the National Honor Society Advisor. Born and raised in the Bitterroot Valley, I love living in Western Montana and am blessed to be here in Thompson Falls. I attended college at Dawson Community College where I earned an Associate of Arts degree in Education. I finished my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at The University of Montana. In 2002 I began working on my Master's Degree and graduated from MSU-Billings in 2005 where I earned my M.Ed. in Education - K-12 School Counseling. In the summer of 2016, I completed my K-12 Principal's Endorsement through the University of Montana.

I worked at Denton Public Schools, a small, rural school in Central Montana, for nine years. I served as the K-12 school counselor for six years. Prior to my counseling position I taught in elementary classrooms for four years. In addition to my counseling and teaching responsibilities, I have worked as an activities director, high school girls’ basketball coach, high school track & field coach, National Honor Society/Jr. Honor Society Advisor, and class advisor. I am married to my husband, Shawn, and have a son who is a junor, Justin, a daughter, Haley, who is a sophomore at Wheaton College, and a daughter, Kara, and son-in-law, Tom, who live in Boston. They have two sons, Jonty and Charlie, who are the most adorable grandsons ever.

I look forward to serving Thompson Falls' Students in the following areas:

Career & College Counseling-Much of my time is spent working with students on career/college planning. I handle testing (ACT/SAT/PRE-ACT/PSAT/ASVAB/TESSERA), scholarship & award opportunities, financial aid, letters of recommendation, college visits, etc.

Academic Advising-I review transcripts to ensure students are on track to graduate. In addition, I help students develop a course plan and help them with class scheduling. I register students for Montana Digital Academy courses and Running Start/Dual Enrollment courses as well.

Personal & Social Counseling-I am available for individual counseling for students referred by a teacher, parent or self for various reasons.
