Our District
Thompson Falls Public Schools is a small school district with three full-time administrators. There is a district superintendent, a high school principal, and an elementary principal. There is also a junior high supervising teacher. The district also utilizes the services of the Cabinet Mountain Cooperative Special Education Director. There are five school board members who each are elected for a three-year term. The district has one full-time clerk.
The Montana Accreditation Standards require a full-time superintendent with 30 or more FTE licensed staff, or 551 or more students. A full-time principal is required for a school with 18-29 FTE licensed staff or 250-550 students.
Thompson Falls School District is comprised of two campuses and is located in the scenic Clark Fork Valley. The High School Campus is located on the east side of Thompson Falls, and serves 9th through 12th grade students, while the K - 8 Campus, is located in the middle of Thompson Falls, and is home to both the Elementary (K-6th grade students) and Junior High School (7th and 8th grade students). It also houses the Superintendent and District Clerk's offices, as well as the Cabinet Mountain Special Education Cooperative Offices.
