Greetings from the Counselor's Office at Thompson Falls High School! My name is Jodi Morgan, and I am very excited to be entering my ninth year as the TFHS Counselor and eighth year as the National Honor Society Advisor. Born and raised in the Bitterroot Valley, I love living in Western Montana and am blessed to be here in Thompson Falls. I attended college at Dawson Community College where I earned an Associate of Arts degree in Education. I finished my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at The University of Montana. In 2002 I began working on my Master's Degree and graduated from MSU-Billings in 2005 where I earned my M.Ed. in Education - K-12 School Counseling. In addition, I recently completed my K-12 Principal's Endorsement through the University of Montana.
For nine years I worked at Denton Public Schools, a small, rural school in Central Montana. For six years I served as the K-12 school counselor. Prior to my counseling position I taught in elementary classrooms for four years. In addition to my counseling and teaching responsibilities, I have worked as the activities director, girls’ basketball coach, track & field coach, National Honor Society/Jr. Honor Society Advisor, and class advisor. I am married to my wonderful husband, Shawn, and have two children at home, Haley & Justin and a daughter and son-in-law in Boston.
I look forward to serving Thompson Falls' Students in the following areas:
Career & College Counseling-Much of my time is spent working with students on career/college planning. I handle the ACT/SAT/PSAT/PLAN/ASVAB/EXPLORE/ISEE, scholarship & award opportunities, financial aid, letters of recommendation, college visits, etc.
Academic Advising-I review transcripts to ensure students are on track to graduate. In addition, I help students develop a course plan and help them with class scheduling.
Personal & Social Counseling-I am available for individual counseling for students referred by a teacher, parent or self for various reasons.
